My Treatment Page
Life can take it out of you….
But massage can put it back.
Holistic Massage provides you with a great opportunity to pay attention to yourself. As part of your first visit, I take a confidential consultation which allows me to build up a picture of you and your needs so that I can create the best possible session.
It is important to tell me about any constant or recurring conditions, injuries or serious ailments that you may have or any medications you are taking.
It may also help to think about what you want to gain from your session, this can be things such as reducing muscle tension, slowing a busy mind, feeling cared for or stimulating your energy. These are only a few examples of what massage therapy can help you achieve – don’t be afraid of expressing what you want and need. However, you may not know what you need and we can work this out together.
Hot Stones
If you like and if it feels appropriate, we can include hot stones to your treatment.
The combination of heat and pressure can feel great. The comfort of the heat gives you all the right signals to allow the pressure to penetrate into the deeper layers of soft tissues, relieving muscle tension and pain.
I often use a range a techniques:- Soft tissue release, facial work, deep tissue, Lymphatic drainage, Thai yoga stretches, hot stones, breathwork…. The end goal being to encourage any restrictions within the soft tissue to release their tension and create more space to move.
I’ve often come across specific conditions such as:
- Tight neck muscles from a repetitive forward posture associated with computer work, bicycle riding or driving, and whiplash injuries
- Golfers/tennis elbow pain.
- Back pain
- Rotator cuff/shoulder muscle pain/injury and frozen shoulders.
- Lower back, sciatic and hip pain.
- Sporting aches and pains including tight hamstrings, IT band, shin, knee and foot pain.
- Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) and Carpal Tunnel syndrome.
- Headaches and migraines
- Stress and anxiety
- Trauma
- Pregnancy related issues
- Digestive issues
- Fibromyalgia
- People undergoing cancer treatment
- Stroke patients
After Care
My intention is to get you into an intensely relaxed state and to encourage any restrictions within the soft tissue to release tension and create more space and help you move with more freedom.
After your massage we can discuss how to maintain better stress levels and possible exercises to help with postural issues.
